Food and Beverage Trade Mission 2017

EuroCham conducted its first industry-specific trade mission last week on March 6 and 7, 2017. Four European food and beverage companies (wine companies from Portugal and one processed meat producer from Hungary) came to Cambodia to learn more about the market and to meet with prospective distributors.

The two-day agenda included a range of business briefings on the Cambodian economy and features of the F+B sector, as well as multiple B2B meetings and site visits. Delegates gave very positive feedback on the market briefings, which provided them opportunity to have their specific questions answered about the typical ways of doing business in the country and compliance with regulatory procedures. Mr. Antonio Nora, General Manager of Casa Agricola HMR S.A. commented that the legal, tax and investment framework presentation was particularly helpful.

The B2B meetings, the core purpose of the trade mission, also proved to be very productive as delegates gained a better understanding of the market and had opportunity to introduce their products to a range of potential partners. Mr. Rui Ribeiro, CEO of Caves Arcos do Rei, was pleased with the positive reception for his product and with EuroCham’s assistance, saying “With this help, there is a good chance for our wines to enter Cambodia market.”  Overall, delegates reported that the trade mission had fulfilled their expectations and that they would be happy to use the services of EuroCham Cambodia in future.

Eurocham would like to express our sincere thanks to all delegates, presenters and other participants who provided us with excellent support and enabled us to make this trade mission a success!
