New Board Members and Executive Committee: AGM 2018 Recap

On Wednesday 21st of March, EuroCham Cambodia hosted its Annual General Meeting 2018 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra. This event was organized with the purpose of electing the new board of directors and provided a recap on the achievements and activities of EuroCham throughout the year. Attendees also received the latest edition of our "Year In Review 2017". 

We would like to thank all who attended yesterday's Annual General Meeting, the event was a great success. We are delighted to welcome our new and reelected board members and look forward to their valuable contributions to EuroCham.

Arnaud DARC (Thalias) 
Re-elected as EuroCham Chairman

"Having contributed to the creation and development of EuroCham Cambodia since its conception, and elected chairman in June 2016, I wish to continue to invest my time and energy into an organization that I believe is the only one that has invested into capacities to conduct efficient advocacy works, to produce and to share relevant informations, statistics, trends, which are strategic components for enterprise's development. "Having completed my education in Europe, I have a strong interest in European commercial affairs as well as the business relationship between Cambodia and Europe as a whole. 
During the last two terms of my mandate as one of EuroCham’s Board of Directors, I acquired a strong knowledge on the governance and legal aspect relating to the activities carried out by EuroCham. I am also very much familiar with the ICI+ program. I wish to continue to personally further invest my time to broaden the role of EuroCham and expand the scope of services which can be offered to its members. "

"My story with EuroCham began a few months ago, when a group of Italian entrepreneurs and I decided to launch an Italian Chapter. As Chairman of this new national chapter, I became increasingly involved in EuroCham’s activities. I share its vision for the business environment in Cambodia, and for this reason I believe it is time for me to be even more proactive and to put my over 25 years of experience in the retailing sector at the service of the organization."

"Passionate about positive changes, Phirum has been active in social activities since the age of 15. Recently, he co-founded a long vision clean city campaign called ‘Sa-at’. Its first initiative in 2017 named ‘Phnom Penh Sa-at’ was widely supported by 6 ministries, over 30 public and private schools, and more than 10 associations and chambers of commerce including EuroCham Cambodia and the CCC. Phirum Hay studied Media Management, Advertising and Marketing in Cambodia, the U.S, and Australia."

"I am a member of Eurocham, and in process of starting up Nordcham Cambodia. In every country I lived its been important for me to connect people, in business and in social life. In Hanoi in Vietnam I was the Chairman for Nordcham Vietnam for 3 years, helping Nordic companies to settle and expand in North Vietnam. Here in Cambodia I am the member of Eurocham and Cambodia Hotel Association, and also active in Private Sector Working Group (marketing and promotion group), Green Business Forum, and the Automotive Group."

"Currently, I am the CEO of two new companies: BETON BLOCK & PAVE and PEX PIPES in January 2017. I am also a member of BNI (Business Network International) that regroup cambodian businesses. Since I settle down in Cambodia, I have the privilege to be a member of both the european and cambodian businesses community. Guillaume MASSIN (DFDL)

Guillaume is team leader on a number of major real estate and agriculture-related projects in Cambodia. He has played an important role in landmark deals including advising Ciputra in the development of a multi-million dollar integrated community in Phnom Penh, has advised international groups on land use rights and construction permits, has assisted banks and private equity funds for the structuring of property projects, supervised the acquisition and structuring of hotel and resort projects, including negotiations with the Royal Government of Cambodia for the lease of state land to investors, worked on land development projects for factories in Special Economic Zones, as well as advised numerous international and local investors in the retail and construction sectors.

Matthew RENDALL (Soksiphana & Associates)

Matthew Rendall, Managing Partner. Head of Property & Real Estate Practice Group, is a commercial lawyer practicing in Cambodia since 1994. Matthew advised the government on the implementation of the new property registration and ownership laws. He is considered by many to be the country’s leading legal authority on property & real estate. Matthew has a law degree from University of Sydney.

Eric DELOBEL (Cambodia Airports) 
EuroCham Board Member

Eric Delobel has a wealth of experience in the areas of project management and real estate development. After joining VINCI at the end of 2009, he moved to Slovakia at the in 2010 as director of the Granvia concession company in charge of the construction of the 52-km R1-PR1bina expressway. He joined VINCI Airports in 2012 as Deputy Managing Director of the future Grand Ouest airport, with responsibility for its implementation and the transfer from Nantes Atlantique. In 2014, Eric Delobel has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for West Region in France. He is a member of the VINCI Airports Executive Committee. On April, 4th 2016, he is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cambodia Airports.

Thomas HUNDT (Smart Axiata) 
EuroCham Board Member

Since 2008, Mr. Thomas Hundt has been the Chief Executive Officer at Smart Axiata, one of Cambodia's leading telecommunications company. Previously Mr. Hundt served as Chief Executive Officer of Latelz Co., Ltd., and Axiata Group Berhad. He has acquired vast experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry during his tenure in key management positions with Siemens AG's Communication Division and Nokia Siemens Networks.
