European Chamber of
Commerce in Cambodia

Survey Introduction

Updated on August 6th 2026

The Business Pulse H2 2026 survey results reflect the views and experiences of EuroCham’s membership base, providing a snapshot of how European and formal Cambodian businesses operating in Cambodia perceive current economic conditions and the country’s business environment. Based on 154 responses collected throughout July 2026, including a minimum of 20 responses from each sector, the survey captures the perspectives of a highly senior respondent base, with 81% of responses coming from owners, board members, C-level executives and senior management. Respondents represent a balanced cross-section of economic sectors and company sizes (see charts on the right).

Drawing on a semi-annual trend analysis since the inaugural Business Pulse in H1 2024, the survey combines quantitative indicators and qualitative feedback to examine business performance, revenue expectations, investment and expansion plans, perceptions of the business environment, external challenges, government reforms and Cambodia’s attractiveness as an investment destination across 5 different sectors: Real Estate & Construction, Tourism & Hospitality, Consumer Products, Agriculture & Food processing and Services (Consulting, Legal, Audit/Accounting, Marketing…). Together, these longitudinal and sectoral comparisons provide valuable insights into how business sentiment among EuroCham members has evolved over the last 2.5 years and across industries.

In addition to the core indicators tracked every 6 months, each Business Pulse edition includes a set of ad hoc questions addressing current developments affecting the business community. While these themes vary from one survey round to another, their results are retained in the report to provide additional context on emerging issues. Previous editions have explored topics such as the business impact of the Thailand–Cambodia border situation, businesses’ efforts to reduce energy use and emissions, the June 2026 U.S.–Iran 14-point Memorandum of Understanding, and the U.S. tariff announcements.

Beyond providing a snapshot of business sentiment, the Business Pulse H2 2026 also serves as an important input into EuroCham’s advocacy activities. The survey findings will be incorporated into a policy paper shared with the Royal Government of Cambodia and development partners, alongside the relevant policy recommendations set out in the White Book 2027 and the continuously updated Live Advocacy Compass website. Together, the survey findings and corresponding recommendations will support evidence-based advocacy conducted through EuroCham’s sectoral committees and Board of Directors, helping ensure that policy dialogue reflects the priorities and concerns of our Membership base.

Business Pulse Survey H2 2026

Business Environment

Revenue Performance

Results indicate a moderate but broad-based deterioration in companies’ ability to meet their targets during H1 2026, reversing the positive trend observed since H1 2024. The decline was especially severe in Tourism & Hospitality and Consumer Products, while Agriculture & Food Processing lost the positive momentum recorded in 2025. Real Estate & Construction remained structurally weak, rather than experiencing a new sharp downturn.
