Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, including inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, symbols, names, and images used in commerce. For businesses entering or expanding in new markets, IP usually protects innovation, brands, creative works, product designs, and other intangible assets while helping to safeguard investments, maintain competitiveness, and reduce legal and commercial risks.

As Cambodia continues to attract foreign investment and integrate into regional and global markets, European businesses increasingly need practical guidance on how to register, maintain, and enforce trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyrights, and related IP rights. Understanding the registration process, timelines, costs, relevant authorities, and enforcement options is particularly important for companies establishing operations, appointing distributors, or commercialising products and services in Cambodia.
In this context, EuroCham Cambodia, in collaboration with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk (an initiative from the European Commission providing free IP support to European SMEs in South-East Asia), is organising a practical webinar entitled “Registering Your Intellectual Property in Cambodia: A Practical Guide for European Businesses.”
The session will provide a practical overview of Cambodia’s IP registration system, highlight common challenges faced by European foreign businesses, and share practical recommendations for protecting valuable business assets.
