EuroCham Cambodia Reviews 2025 Operations and Approves Statutes Updates at 2026 Annual General Meeting

March 26, 2026, Phnom Penh, Cambodia — The European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham Cambodia) successfully held its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members from across sectors and National Chapters for the Chamber’s principal annual governance and reporting event.

The AGM recorded strong participation from Ordinary Members, enabling the meeting to reach quorum for both attendance and voting, underscoring sustained engagement from the EuroCham membership and providing a solid mandate for decisions taken during the meeting.

A core agenda item was the vote on a targeted revision of EuroCham’s Statutes, presented by Executive Director Mr. Martin Brisson. The update was developed over recent months by EuroCham’s Board of Directors and follows a series of discussions with the British Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (BritCham). It reflects broader structural changes arising from the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union, as well as the evolving relationship between the two organisations.

Although BritCham will no longer hold reserved rights, Board nomination rights, or special privileges under the new Statutes, both organisations remain committed to maintaining a constructive and positive institutional relationship, recognising the longstanding cooperation and joint efforts that have reinforced both the European and British business communities in Cambodia.

The proposed statutes were reviewed and endorsed by both EuroCham Cambodia and BritCham ahead of the AGM and were unanimously approved by the EuroCham Board of Directors before being submitted to the membership for final approval.

With a strong majority approval by members, the revised statutes were formally adopted.

During the AGM, members also reviewed EuroCham’s 2025 Activity and Financial Reports, highlighting continued membership growth, active advocacy engagement, and a net financial surplus for the year.

Results from the EuroCham Membership Survey 2025 were also shared, confirming satisfaction remains high at 92%. Events, communications, and publications continue to deliver value, while engagement levels reflect time constraints rather than dissatisfaction.

This strong foundation is supported by an expanded advocacy agenda, including preparation of the latest edition of the White Book and the upcoming Live Advocacy Compass upgrade with a Red Tape Tracker. Concrete results were evidenced through engagement with the Prime Minister’s Office, CDC, and GDCE in the express logistics sector, delivering a ten-fold increase in one- and two-day customs clearances and a 60% reduction in paperwork.

The launch of the new EuroCham website, featuring member-exclusive content such as the digital Business Pulse platform, has strengthened access to practical market intelligence.

Looking ahead, flagship events including EuroFeast, the White Book Launch, and the Tax Forum signal continued momentum, alongside active National Chapters and CCIFC engagement around the Francophonie Summit 2026. Financial oversight remains strong, supported by the annual audit by Grant Thornton.

QUOTE

“The message from this AGM is clear: trust is strong, but expectations are rising. Our members are operating in a tougher environment, paying closer attention to costs and value. It is our responsibility to respond — by delivering sharper advocacy, more targeted services, and measurable impact. EuroCham will continue to evolve to meet that challenge,” Executive Director Mr. Martin Brisson.

The AGM also marked Board of Directors transitions, with new appointments following recent departures of Chairperson Mr. Gabriele Faja, Secretary General Ms. Liubov Popova, Treasurer Mr. Sylvain Ung, and Vice-chairperson from CCIFC Mr. Cyril Girot. Following the AGM, the Board of Directors convened to vote for replacements of these leadership positions.
