EuroCham joins the 1st National Forum on “Youth and Clean City”

On 29 February 2016, the National Committee for Clean City Assessment and the Ministry of Tourism organized the first National Forum on “Youth and Clean City” under the theme “Think, Act, Care”. The event was under the support of the Union of Youth Federation in Cambodia (UYFC) and the Ministry of Environment.
The National Forum served as a mechanism for Clean City campaign aiming to make cities in Cambodia “clean and green”so as to attract more tourists and be qualified to join the ASEAN Tourist Clean City Standard (ATCCS).
In the occasion, EuroCham Advocacy Manager, Mr. Blaise Kilian delivered a presentation on the Chamber’s role in Clean City. EuroCham support to the Ministry of Tourism’s initiatives includes coordination support to the public-private task force created to jointly undertake cleaning campaigns, dissemination of relevant information to the private sector and sponsorship of the Clean City campaign on CNC TV. EuroCham also promotes green business practices in Cambodia and encourages policy dialogue through its Green Business Committee. Following the presentation, the Ministry of Tourism expressed interest in EuroCham’s Green Business Committee.
