Webinar on Capital Gains and Exit Taxes
EuroCham concluded the Tax Tuesdays summer series yesterday with a great final session on Capital Gains and Exit Taxes.
Ms. CHHIV Kimsroy, Tax Partner at Deloitte, opened the session with an insightful presentation on the new Capital Gains Tax (CGT), which was originally introduced through Prakas 346 in April 2020, but then saw its implementation postponed twice until January 2022 due to the COVID-19 crisis. Ms. CHHIV elaborated on the field of application of the CGT, its exemptions, calculation methods and offered great insights into what can be expected from this new tax. Mr. Clint O'CONNELL, Head of Tax at DFDL, expertly addressed the tax implications of investing and exiting investments in Cambodia, dealing with the peculiarities of share transfers, asset transfers and business transfers.
