Strengthening Capacities on ESG and Supply Chain Due Diligence
Asia Development Bank (ADB) – 2025
As the European Union advances Green Deal regulations such as CBAM, CSDDD, and EUDR, exporters in Cambodia face increasing pressure to meet sustainability requirements and maintain access to the EU market. In response, the Asian Development Bank aimed to strengthen the capacity of business support organisations, exporters, and government agencies to better understand and respond to these evolving regulations, while improving access to practical tools and advisory services.
EuroCham Cambodia implemented the project through a combination of stakeholder consultations, a regulatory gap analysis, and national training workshops delivered in partnership with Bureau Veritas in Cambodia and Laos. The initiative also produced an ESG service provider directory and a practical “EU Compliance Starter Toolkit,” building on previous work under the Responsible Business Hub.
As a result, the project trained over 40 public and private sector representatives on EU Green Deal regulations, increased awareness of due diligence requirements, and strengthened public-private dialogue. It also served as a pilot for replication in other developing countries and provided stakeholders with practical tools and service provider access to support compliance and maintain EU market access.
