Supporting European Investment and Matchmaking in Cambodia’s Digital Economy
GIZ-DTC – 2026
Cambodia’s digital economic growth is driven by government policies promoting digital transformation, increasing adoption of digital payments, and a growing demand for cloud services. Recognising Cambodia’s potential as an emerging technology market, GIZ’s Digital Transformation Center (GIZ-DTC) engaged EuroCham Cambodia to strengthen business and investment linkages between European technology companies and Cambodia’s digital ecosystem. The assignment comprised two complementary components: the development of the Market Potential for German Digital Companies in Cambodia (2025) study, and the design and delivery of a European Tech Business Delegation that enabled companies to validate these findings through direct engagement with government agencies, technology companies, investors, and innovation partners.
EuroCham Cambodia conducted comprehensive market research into Cambodia’s digital economy before designing and coordinating a three-day business delegation that combined regulatory briefings, ministerial meetings, site visits, networking events, and structured B2B matchmaking. The program connected eight European technology companies with senior representatives from MISTI, MPTC, the CDC, Cambodian technology firms, investors, and innovation hubs. A total of 53 participants attended the information session and 56 B2B meetings were organised, achieving an average participant satisfaction score of 4.36 out of 5.
Together, the market study and delegation provided participating companies with detailed market intelligence, validated commercial opportunities in enterprise digitalisation, fintech, cloud services, AI, outsourcing, and digital skills development, and established new partnerships that laid the groundwork for future investment, business collaboration, and technology transfer between Europe and Cambodia.
