On 13 August 2021, EuroCham – in collaboration with the Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition (CEE Comp) – had the pleasure to host a webinar on “The Road to Energy Efficiency”, welcoming over 80 live attendees.
The webinar started with a presentation from Ms. Mathilde Driot, Project Officer at CEE Comp, who discussed the state of energy consumption in Cambodia and the country’s energy & climate goals, which are to reduce energy consumption by 25% in buildings and industry by 2035. She also mentioned four levers to improve energy efficiency and introduced the CEE Competition, which is a 10-month competition among buildings to save the maximum amount of energy.
In the panel discussion moderated by Dr. Susanne Bodach, Chairwoman of EuroCham’s Green Business Committee and Managing Director of BEE Incorporations, we were also joined by Mr. Raphaël Bevillard, Technical Manager at ATS Cambodia, who shared a case study of energy consumption reduction implemented by his company. Then, Mr. Cédric Borel and Mr. John CREAMER from IFPEB/A4MT, explained why the competition is necessary to improve energy efficiency in buildings and provided some examples of existing companies that joined the competition in France.
